Notifications for Inactive or Expired Social Media Accounts

Modified on Fri, 13 Sep at 1:47 PM

Ensuring continuous integration between your Social Planner and various social media platforms is essential for effective social media management. Accounts such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Google My Business (GMB) within Social Planner each have unique token expiration periods. The access token plays a pivotal role in maintaining smooth publishing and content tracking. If an account disconnects, these functions are interrupted, highlighting the importance of having authorized access to all social media accounts. Authorization automatically generates access tokens, facilitating an uninterrupted workflow. It's important to note that different platforms have varying token expiration limits—LinkedIn tokens expire after 60 days, Facebook's last for 90 days, and some platforms have no expiration timeframe at all.

Notification System: Stay Alert, Stay Active

To help you stay on top of things, the Social Planner uses a notification system. As an account’s token approaches its expiration, you'll receive notifications, tailored to your settings and preferred number of days before the reminder is issued.

Accessing Notifications

To manage notifications, click the gear icon in the top right corner to enter the Social Planner's settings.

From there, navigate to the “Notifications” tab, where you’ll find the available notification settings.

The types of notifications include:

  • Account Pre-Expiry: Notifies selected users when a social account’s token is nearing expiration.

  • Account Expired: Alerts selected users when the token has expired.

  • Request for Post Approval: Sends a notification to users who need to approve a post.

  • Approved Post: Notifies content creators when their post has been approved.

  • Rejected Post: Alerts content creators if their post is rejected.

  • Post FailedNotifies selected users if a scheduled post fails to publish.
