To start creating a new SMS template, go to the Templates section under the Conversations tab of your CRM. Click on the green + Add Template button located at the top right of your screen. A dropdown menu will appear, giving you the option to select either Add Text Template or Add Email Template. Choose Add Text Template for this task. A popup window will then open, where you can fill in all the necessary details for your template.
Naming Your Template
It’s important to choose a descriptive name for your template. By following consistent naming conventions, you and your team will be able to find the template quickly when it’s needed.
Crafting the SMS Template
In the body section of the popup, write the message you wish to include in the template. To personalize the message, you can add custom values and trigger links by selecting them from the dropdown menus above the text box.
Attaching Files to Your SMS
To include a file, such as an image or document, click on the paperclip icon located at the bottom left of the text box. This allows you to send additional files along with your SMS message.
Previewing Your SMS Template
On the right side of the screen, you’ll see a preview of your SMS template. This preview shows the text of your message as well as any attachments you’ve added.
Testing Your SMS Template
To test your template on a mobile device, enter your mobile phone number in the Mobile Phone Number box beneath the message preview. Click the green Send Text button to send a test message. Check your phone to ensure the message appears correctly. Once you’re satisfied, click the green Save button at the bottom right of the template body box.
